SCSD Extends Unpaid Leave of Absence

The Board of Education approved an extension of the Unpaid Unrestricted Leave for eligible staff in bargaining Unit 1 and Unit 8, at their July 15, 2010 meeting. To find out more information please download the SCSD Posting.

SCSD Extends Retirement Incentives for Units 1 & 8

The Board of Education approved an extension of both the Unit 1 and Unit 8 SCSD 2010 Retirement Incentives at its July 14, 2010 meeting. Below you can find copies of forms that Unit 1 and Unit 8 staff can use to take advantage of the incentive, along with a the cover memos that will go to all building administrators with a supply of the forms. Deadline to sign up for these incentives is July 30, 2010.

Chateau LaFayette Reneau Donates to St. Baldrick's - Team STA

Chateau LaFayette Reneau, a winery located on southeast Seneca Lake has donated $1000 to Team Syracuse Teachers & Friends. This generous donation will help the team reach their goal of $6800.00 and the events goal of $330,000. This money will all be donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research.

Chateau LaFayette Reneau, a Seneca Lake Winery in Hector, N.Y. has donated $1,000 to Team Syracuse Teachers and Friends. Dick and Betty Reno have long been supportive of charitable causes and were more than willing to assist in our efforts to fight childhood cancer.

This generous donation will help the team reach their goal of $6,800 and the events goal of $330,000. All pledges will be donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research.

New National Board Certified Teachers Recognized

Kevin Mixon and Michael Singer join the STA's only other National Board Certified Teacher, Jackie Schneider-Revette at the January Rep Assembly. Mixon and Singer were also honored at the January School Board Meeting.
